Daedelus was one of the original twelve Columbia Class Battlestars that were commissioned shortly
after the beginning of the First Cylon War.
Crew Compliment Edit
The Daedelus was known top have held at least 5,000 crewmembers in total, consisting of officers and command staff, pilots, marines and technicians.
Military Service Edit
During the first Cylon War, the Daedelus was assigned to BSG 76 with one of its sister ships, the Excalibur, several Orion and Berzerk class "pocket Battlestars", and several smaller Ranger and Defender class support vessels. After surviving many engagements over the course of the First Cylon War, the Daedelus was lost with all hands during an engagement with a Cylon battle group, along with a majority of the vessels in her battlestar group.
The Daedelus was equipped with:
- 24 antiship turrets
- 514 point defense turrets
- Multiple nuclear warheads
- Numerous Viper mark 2 space superiority fighters
- Numerous Raptor multi-purpose vehicles
The Daedelus was equipped with numerous directional thrusters scattered all over the ship, six sublight engine pods located to the rear of the ship, and a fully functional FTL drive.
