Vincent 'Govie' Zeresi is a main character appearing in Wes Imlay's The Devil You Know.

Early Life[]

Vincent Zeresi was born into an impoverished family on Virgon's equatorial plains. He was quite a troublemaker at school and was known for his often wicked sense of humour that was discouraged at every opportunity by his teachers. Alas their efforts were to be in vain and only served to spur him on further. Nevertheless he showed that he possessed an above average IQ and excelled in his studies particularly when it came to utilizing computers. Like many of his generation he became a fan of the Holoband but not possessing his own he had to use the ones at the Holoband café that had opened in his home town. It was while ‘Holobanding’ that he had his first sexual encounters at fourteen (he had used his computer know-how to bypass the safety protocols designed to prevent this) using an avatar of an older person that he had created himself. The appeal of the Holoband did not last however and soon he began searching for his thrills in the real world. He began drinking and was a regular user of legal hallucinogenic drugs. His charm and wit meant that he had no shortage of female admirers in his home town but again he grew tired of this and was forever in search of more exciting pastimes. None were more exciting than the prospect of joining the newly created Colonial Fleet to fight the Cylons.

The Cylon War[]

Zeresi had hopes of becoming a Viper pilot however he was not blessed with the necessary skills and had no real feel for flying. He therefore opted for the next best thing and began to utilize his computer skills in order to become an ECO on a Raptor. He completed his training on an RS-18T Rapere and was posted to the Battlestar Columbia.
