Susan Minerva is a character from Wes Imlay's Flight of the Libran.
Backstory[]
Susan Lake was born 41 years before the Fall in the city of Argentum on Scorpia, the eldest of the four children of Raymond and Ivette Lake, where she would spend most of her early years. She graduated from Argentum Bay High School. Her senior year she was approved to attend the Colonial Fleet Academy on Picon.
She would graduate twenty-sixth in her class at the Academy, following which was her first assignment to the battlestar Courageous. Four years later, when she was serving on the Galactica, she would meet Douglas Minerva. After three years as a couple the two would marry.
She has been married for fifteen years with two children. Eight year old Dalton and five year old Isabelle.
Six years BTF she was serving as the CAG of the battlestar Vanguard. It was during this time that Renee and Rachel Adar were kidnapped by the Sagitarron Liberation Army. Minerva's CO, Commander Scott Tolan, was selected to lead a rescue mission. He needed a pilot for the transport shuttle and felt that his CAG was the person for the job, her Advanced Tactical Training skills were seen as a huge asset if the worst were to happen.
While on the battlestar Valkyrie during final preparations for the mission Minerva came down with a case of appenticitis, causing her to be scrubbed from the mission. In her place Tolan recruited the Valkyrie's CAG, Major Artimus Bowman.
Three years later Minerva was promoted to Colonel and assigned to the Battlestar Libran, in the process of being brought into commission, to serve as the Executive Officer for Commander Nicholas Tattnall.
