The Viper Mark-VII is the Colonial Fleet's latest update to the venerable Viper line primary space superiority fighter / attack craft that began with the original Viper Mark I.

Design[]

The Mark-VII incorporates the traditional three engined arrangement mounted in a triangular layout (2 on the bottom / 1 on top). Unlike previous generations of Viper the Mark-VII is surprisingly sleek and agile and puts greater emphasis on aerodynamic performance as well as spaceborne mobility. The fighter incorporates a blended wing design allows air to pass over it much more smoothly than on the older Vipers.

[The design incorporates stealth features designed to reduce its DRADIS signature thus making it more difficult to detect in a heavy ECM environment although it is not s true stealth fighter such as the StealthStar.

Battlestar Leonidas's Universe[]

In the Battlestar Leonidas's Universe, The Viper Mark VII, is the seventh version of the Starhound Class Viper.

The reason why the Starhound Class Viper Mark VII is light blue a difference color than the Starhound Class Viper Mark II which is White/Red, is because the Viper Mark VII have a different type of Armour plating.
