Jessica Jennings is a character in Wes Imlay's 'Battlestar Victorious' series.
Jessica Jennings was born twenty-two years BTF, the third of four children, on the colony of Picon. She spent most of her life in the city of Gray, and would graduate from Jones High School in the top five of her graduating class.
She decided to pursue a career in the Colonial Fleet, and was accepted to the Fleet Academy.
Jennings was at the top of her graduating class when the school entered its annual Junius Break where cadets spent a month away from the Academy before returning home. Jessica's father was friends with Admiral Peter Corman, and Corman urged Jessica to spent the month serving as the temporary Communications Officer onboard the battlestar Victorious during the events of Operation Pedestal. With Ensign Angela Rigel leaving to serve on the battlestar Kios a quick fix was needed until a permanent officer could be found to fill her spot on Victorious.
When the Cylons attacked, Rear Admiral Scott Tolan made Jennings' temporary rank permanent as there was no longer a Fleet Academy for her to return to.
During the Battle of Carillon, Jennings took over the Tactical Console when Major Anton Pontiere was knocked unconscious during the battle while still carrying out her duties as Communications Officer. This would earn her both a medal and a promotion to Lieutenant.
In Volume Three of the 'Battlestar Victorious' series, Lieutenant Jennings is assigned to a special task force stationed on the space liner Olympica that is led by former Ministry of Intelligence officer Mitchell Cain. The group is tasked with uncovering the remaining members of the Praetorium, a cabal of Colonial Fleet officers opposed to the plans of the Admiralty.
