Brimir Type Turrets[]
Brimir Type Class 1 Turrets[]
The Class 1 turrets are the primary anti-ship turrets used on the Brimir-Type Carrier before the 1ST Cylon War.
Brimir Type Class 2 Turrets[]
The Class 2 turrets are the primary point defense weapons used on the Brimir-Type Carrier.
Those weapons are small turrets that fire FLAK (anti aircraft) rounds that looks like the ones fired by the Galactica main turrets.
In the Battlestar Galactica Online game,those weapons are called MEC-L39F "Landslide" Flak Battery.
They're the primary Close-in weapon system or point defense weapons that equip the Block 1 Brimir-Class Carrier (D1).
Brimir Type Class 3 Turrets[]
During the 1ST Cylon War the old Class 1 Turrets were replaced with the newer Class 3 Turrets.
The Class 3 Turrets fire the same rounds as the Galactica Type main turrets.
Brimir Type Class 4 Turrets[]
The Class 4 Turret is a post-war upgrade for the Class 3.
The Class 4 Turrets are no longer human manned.
They're controlled by a computer targetting system and the crew only choose the target.
But if the computer system is offline, the crew can still operate the gun manually with the glass dome being replaced with a control room with computer screen.
Galactica Type Turrets[]
Galactica Type Class 1 Turrets[]
The Class 1 turrets are the one seen in BSG serie and on Galactica Type Galactica Type Battlestars Block 1 and 2. They can fire both anti-ship or Flak (anti-aircraft) rounds. They are human controlled and the control crew sit in the glass dome.
Galactica Type Class 2 Turrets[]
The Class 2 are the small dual barreled galting guns seen on Galactica Type Battlestars. They are the primary Anti-Aircraft defense system.
In the Battlestar Galactica Online game,those weapons are called MEC-L30P "Brushfire" Point Defense Battery.
Mercury Type Turrets[]
Mercury Type Class 1 Turrets[]
The Mercury Type Class 1 Turrets were first used on the Mercury Type Battlestars.
They're controlled by a computer targetting system and the crew only choose the target.
But if the computer system is offline, the crew can still operate the gun manually within a control room with computer screens and manual controls.
This Class of Turret can fire different types of rounds:
- anti-ship rounds
- FLAK (anti-air) rounds
Valkyrie Type Turrets[]
Valkyrie Type Class 1 Turrets[]
The Valkyrie Type Class 1 Turrets are the biggest turrets used on the valkyrie.
They're controlled by a computer targetting system and the crew only choose the target.
But if the computer system is offline, the crew can still operate the gun manually within a control room with computer screens and manual controls.
The computer targetting systems is part of a post-war upgrade program.
This Class of Turret can fire different types of rounds:
- anti-ship rounds
- FLAK (anti-air) rounds
- small Class 1 missiles (small anti-ship missiles)
