The M-60 Semi Automated Assault Rifle commonly termed as the "Boar" by Colonial Soldiers was the central Heavy Assault projectile weapon used by Cylon Centurion Forces during their tireless ground assault campaign on Humanity since the era of the 1st Cylon war nearly 50 years before the fall of the 12 Colonies of Kobol.
The rifle was a part of a series of Graystone Military Division heavy weaponry that are capable of firing 7.62x51mm NATO style cartridges from a disintegrating belt of M13 links. There are several types of live ammunition approved for use in the M60, including ball, tracer, and armor-piercing rounds.
The M-60 Gained further prominence during the height of the Cylon Civil War as M60's were further modified to the now standard "E3" variant that was made more lightweight for small and considerably physically weaker Humanoid models and some Human troops to carry far more easily.
Weapons History[]
Origins[]
Development for the M series rifle began over 50 years before the fall by Graystone Industries as part of a replacement program for a new, lighter 7.62 mm machine gun for the Caprican military.
