Class-1 Missiles are big anti-ship missiles that are designed to deal with large targets like basestars. They can be either nuclear or conventional and can only be launched from big missiles silos.

Class-2 Missiles are small anti-ship missiles that are designed to deal with large as well as small targets, especially fighters.
They can be either nuclear or conventional. Class-2 nuclear Missiles are not used against fighters.
Class-2 missiles can be launched from conventional Class-2 Missile Silos as well as from D2 Class Turrets and from F Class Turrets.
