Tyrone Carter, age 36, was born on the colony of Gemenon. He was an only child, and showed great athletic prowess in regards to Pyramid. His senior year however, he suffered a knee injury that would derail his plans for become a professional pyramid player. Losing his scholarship to the University of Gemenon was hard on him, he applied to the Colonial Fleet Academy and was accepted.
At the events of Volume One of the Victorious series Carter is serving as commanding officer of the Battlestar Sphinx in Battlestar Group 66. When news of the Cylon attacks reached the battle group Carter wanted to charge into battle to help the fleet fight the Cylons at Virgon. This briefly brought him in conflict with Admiral Tolan, the leader of BSG-66, who wanted to hold the battle group back in order to get the decommissioned Battlestars Athena and Ares back in operation.
Carter is later promoted to the newly-formed Admiralty, taking the rank of Vice Admiral and finally Admiral. He is now in command of Battlestar Group 67, with the rebuilt Battlestar Atlantia as his flagship. It is been known that if something should happen to either Fleet Admiral Tolan or Kronus then Carter would be promoted to the five-star rank.
Standing at a height of six feet, eight inches; Tyrone Carter is a physically intimidating individual. Carter was at the maximum height allowed for Viper pilots. He earned the call sign 'Crater' when he brought his Viper hard on the flight pod of the Battlestar Atlas and left a small crater in the deck.
Along with Artimus Bowman of the Battlestar Hermes, Tyrone Carter is one of the closest friends Scott Tolan has. However the two became friends under strange circumstances. When Carter arrived at the Fleet Academy to begin his freshman year, a group of seniors were present to initiate the newly arrived cadets in the ways of the Academy. Carter took a swing and floored one of the seniors, who in turned got up and knocked him out with one punch. This senior was none other than Cadet Scott Tolan. Tolan did not report the incident, but did let Carter know that if he stepped out of line he would be out of the Academy. The two later met on the Battlestar Mercury when Carter transferred to find that Tolan was the Battlestar's CAG. The two would strike up a friendship. Carter would later say that Tolan had done more for him than his family ever had. Another effect of this friendship would involve Lacey Tolan. Much like Artimus Bowman, Carter would become one of her 'honorary uncles' and would be quite protective of her.
